Your Animal Companion in Spirit Sees Your Grief

Your animal companion in spirit sees your grief — and they have something important they want you to know about it.

If I could share just one thing that animals on the other side tell me most often, it would be this: they are not worried about themselves. They are worried about you.

Over and over, in session after session, the message is the same. Your animal companion sees your grief. They feel it. And the very first thing they want you to know is that your pain does not burden them, but they do not want it to consume you.

They show me images of their person crying in the car, sitting on the kitchen floor next to an empty bowl, or holding a collar and just breathing. They see all of it. And what surprises most people is that the animal does not feel sadness when they show me this. What they feel is tenderness. A deep, steady love and a wish that you could feel how close they still are.

Many animals have told me something I find beautiful: your grief is proof of the bond, and they honor it. But they also want you to know that staying in that heavy place for too long makes it harder for them to reach you. Grief can build a kind of wall, not because you are doing anything wrong, but because the weight of it lowers your energy to a place where their lighter, higher frequency has trouble getting through.

They are not asking you to stop grieving. They would never ask that. What they are asking is that you also make room for the joy you shared. Think of the silly moments. Laugh at the things they used to do. When you smile at a memory of them, that is when the door opens widest and their love can reach you most clearly.

Your animal companion crossed over whole, happy, and free. And they are still right here, closer than you think, sending you love every single day.

Do They Mind If I Bring Home Another Animal

Of all the questions people bring to me, this one carries the most guilt. Someone will sit across from me, eyes down, and almost whisper it: Would she be upset if I got another cat? Would he feel like I'm replacing him?
