How we work together
Every session is a real conversation between you, your animal, and me. Whether your companion is curled up beside you or waiting on the other side, the format is the same — and the fee is the same. Animals in spirit don't cost more to reach than animals here in body. A photo helps me make the initial connection and confirms I'm talking to the right one. Distance doesn't matter; I work with people across the city, across the country, and across the world.
There are three main ways to work with me: phone sessions (a live conversation), email sessions (a written transcript of what your animal shares), and coaching (for those who want to develop their own intuitive abilities).
A note for new clients:
I strongly recommend a 30 or 45 minute session for your first appointment unless your question is fairly basic. That gives us enough time to get your animal's history and context, have the conversation, and discuss what came through. The 15-minute option is reserved for established clients with a quick follow-up question.
Email Sessions
You send your questions and a photo of your animal; I conduct the session and send you a complete written transcript of the conversation by email within 3–5 business days. Once you've reviewed the transcript, you have the opportunity to ask follow-up questions.
Email sessions are a wonderful option if you prefer to read the conversation rather than hear it, if scheduling a phone call is difficult, or if you want a written record you can return to. We do our best to get you scheduled quickly — most appointments are available within 2–4 weeks.

Phone Sessions
Live, interactive, by phone. You bring a list of questions; I translate; your animal answers in real time. Most people find this the most rewarding format because you can follow up on what comes through — ask for clarification, dig deeper, react in the moment.
Please send a photo of your animal before the session. Recordings are available for an additional $5; if you choose this option, I'll send you a sound file by email within 3–5 days after the call. We do our best to get you scheduled quickly — most appointments are available within 2–4 weeks.

Animal Communication Coaching & Intuitive Development
For people who want to develop their own ability to communicate with animals — or simply deepen their existing connection.
These are private sessions, customized to where you are and where you want to go. We work by phone, in 60–90 minute sessions, all of which are recorded. I'll send you a sound file by email within 3–5 days after each call.

Emotion Code & Light Code Healing
A way to get to the root cause of pain, emotional trauma, and behavioral issues — for both animals and people.
We all carry emotional baggage. These trapped emotions can create blocks in our lives — blocks to good health, success, happiness, and peace of mind. Animals carry emotional baggage too. This work identifies and releases these trapped emotions, and installs positive-energy Light Codes to raise the vibration.
Pricing
All sessions are conducted remotely, and you'll receive an emailed report of what came up and what was released.
Emergency Sessions
A limited number of emergency consultations are available, and I fit them in between already-booked appointments whenever I can.
These are for the times you need to reach your animal urgently — during an illness or accident, when you're facing an end-of-life decision, or when an animal is lost or missing.
Please note that emergency sessions are only available during regular business hours:
Tuesday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Arizona time)
I'll schedule your session as quickly as my availability allows. Emergency sessions carry an additional fee of $75 on top of the standard session price. We do our best to get you scheduled quickly — most appointments are available within 2–4 weeks.
A Note About Lost and Missing Animal Sessions:
As an Animal Communicator, I connect with animals in physical form and in spirit, acting as a translator on your behalf, asking them questions and relaying your messages back to them. Everything I receive comes from your animal's perspective, and he or she may not know exactly where they are or how they got there.
Lost animals are often confused or frightened, which can make it difficult to tell whether they're still in their body. I look for physical signs like a heartbeat and breathing. This usually gives a clear answer. Every situation is different, and there are rare times when the information isn't complete, I'll always be honest with you about what I'm sensing.
All lost and missing animal sessions are done by email, not by phone, so that I can focus completely on my connection with your animal. For your first session, I recommend booking 30 minutes. That allows enough time for me to connect fully with your animal and share what comes through.

A gift certificate is a beautiful gift for the animal lover in your life — particularly someone navigating grief, a difficult diagnosis, or simply curious about what their companion has to say. I can send the certificate directly to your recipient, or to you to deliver yourself. Just let me know your preference at checkout.
Scheduling, Payment & Policies
Business hours
10 AM – 4 PM, Tuesday through Friday, and 10 AM – 12 PM on Saturday, Arizona time. Some evening appointments are available by request. Most inquiries are returned by the next business day; messages received Friday through Sunday may be returned the following Tuesday.
A note on time zones: Arizona does not observe daylight saving time. If you're not local, you can convert your local time to Arizona time at timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.
Payment & scheduling
Payment is required in advance to reserve your appointment. You can pay by credit card through PayPal (no PayPal account required — credit card alone is fine), or by mailing a personal check or money order made payable to Debbie Johnstone. Contact me for the mailing address. Phone sessions require payment 72 hours in advance. Once payment is received, I'll be in touch by email to schedule your session.
Cancellations and rescheduling
I require 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule for a full refund (minus any PayPal service fees).
Returned checks
A $35 fee applies to returned checks.
